Socionext Expands Lineup of Integrated Medical IoT Solution “viewphii”

SUNNYVALE, CA, April 5, 2016  --- Socionext Inc, a new leader in advanced SoC based technology, today announced it has added new "Mobile Continuous Blood Pressure Monitoring Solution" and "Mobile Electro-Cardiogram Solution" to its “viewphii” series of medical and healthcare solutions. In addition to its previously developed "Mobile Ultrasound solution", the company looks to apply these for medical use, and will continue with its development as an "Integrated Medical IoT Solutions". The device enables users to collect vital data in the mobile environment and manage such data over the Cloud. Socionext will showcase the latest lineup of “viewphii” solutions at MEDTEC Japan 2016, held from April 20 at the Tokyo Big Sight, booth# 6700.

Back in 2015, Socionext leveraged its system LSI technology expertise in noise reduction, image processing and low power consumption to launch its first "Mobile Ultrasound solution". The “viewphii” comes with a portable, battery-powered and cable-less measurement device for ultrasound imaging and a tablet application for monitoring images and storing data over a cloud service. The solution, which allows users to easily measure muscle mass and body fat and store the data over cloud service, quickly drew attention from the medical industry. In order to expand its use in medical applications, Socionext has undergone extensive research and development to improve both the hardware and the software of our ultrasound solution.

With years of experience on the development of non-invasive, hand-held mobile ultrasound measurement devices, Socionext has come up with new solutions such as continuous blood pressure monitoring and electro-cardiogram for use in medical applications.
