We’re excited to demo two new video content delivery solutions ideal for video broadcasting and service providers at NAB this year:
SC2M50 Single-Chip HEVC Video Codec – We'll be demoing our new SC2M50, an ultra-compact, low power 4K/60p single-chip HEVC codec. The SC2M50, available in a small 25mm x 25mm package, consumes only 3.5W of power – a 97 percent power savings compared to current solutions that demand as much as 150W! Full HEVC support enables the IC to transmit high-quality 4K video using half the bandwidth required by conventional H.264 devices. The ultra-compact size, low-power performance and support for YUV 4:2:2 10-bit encoding make the SC2M50 ideal for portable, battery-operated professional video recording and transmission equipment. Media Edge Server – The new "M820"media edge server combines our high-efficiency, multi-core SC2A11A ARM core-based processor and industry-leading MB86M30 HEVC/AVC/MPEG-2 codec IC. The server enables optimized, low-latency encoding and encoding for high-volume data processing with minimal delay. Potential use cases include selectively capturing and transmitting AV meta data to the cloud for deep learning / AI applications or as the foundation for collaborative video broadcasting and service solutions.
We will present a demo of the M820 media edge server utilizing TeraFaces®, the face recognition software provided by Tera Probe, Inc., in our booth at NAB 2017. The demo will highlight the real-time data processing capabilities of the MB820 combined with TeraFaces to detect positions of individual faces in a video, identify if those individuals match the faces of those who were registered, and then integrate the generated information with the video data.
